Simple Living in Complex Times: Home Life in the 1930s

April 5 - July 1, 2023

The Atkins-Johnson Farm and Museum will be opening for the season with Simple Living in Complex Times: Home Life in the 1930s. This exhibit features a variety of artifacts that paint a picture of what life was like in the homes of Americans in the tumultuous 1930s. Focusing on families, furnishing, and the American way of life in one of the nation’s most economically and politically unsteady eras, Simple Living in Complex Times: Home Life in the 1930s tells its story through artifacts, art and images, and stories of local residents during this 1930s.
