Missouri Bicentennial: Celebrating 200 years of Missouri History

April 7- June 26, 2021
Missouri Bicentennial: Celebrating 200 years of Missouri History. On August 10, 2021 the state of Missouri celebrates its 200th anniversary. The history of the state is a multipart narrative filled with moments of great pride and achievement but also violence and complexity. From the Lewis and Clark expedition to modern day Ferguson, the idea of history and memory is remembered differently by different people. Race, income, regional differences and of course time affect the way Missourians think about their state’s past and their own individual shared experiences. This exhibit takes a look at some of the milestones and major events that have shaped the state. Through a timeline of events combined with original artifacts, the exhibit aims to showcase the 200-year journey of Missouri and her people.
